This book, which is small in volume, has made an important contribution
to the international literature in its field. Introduction to Sociology of
Communication has become a work used and utilized in sociology
departments and communication faculties in Turkey.
The book is an "introductory" work for the field and the emphasis is on
the comprehensibility of the subject. Since the study aims to open a new
window to the debates in the field, it has avoided exhausting the subject.
The theoretical claim of the study is concretized by testing the
communication systems in Greek, Roman, and Eastern civilizations.
The study is open to the contribution and criticism of academics,
students, and anyone who is interested in the subjects that examine the
forms of social organization from the axis of communication strategies;
sociology, communication, history, and political studies.
